What do fans of the New York Jets think about the Week 7 game against the Minnesota Vikings? We got the opponent perspective on the Oct. 21 contest.

The Minnesota Vikings hit the road in Week 7 to play the New York Jets in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The two teams are two-game winning streaks and are hoping to make it three in a row on Oct. 21.

Fans of the Vikings are getting a lot of info from the Minnesota media, but sometimes it’s good to get a look at the team from the opposing squad’s point of view. For that reason, we reached out to Luis Tirado Jr. from FanSided’s The Jet Press to give us a peek into how Jets fans feel about this game and the Vikings.

We asked him five questions. Here are his responses:

1) The Jets are looking like a team who could possibly be on the rise. What more do they have to do in order be a top contender in the AFC?

While the Jets are indeed a team on the rise, they still have a lot of work to be done in order to be a top contender in the AFC. At this point in time, they need to bolster their offensive line, add more offensive playmakers, and add another top pass rusher or two.

2) The Teddy Bridgewater experiment didn’t work out for New York. However, the Jets still look like they have their franchise quarterback. What should Vikings fans know about Sam Darnold?

Viking fans should know that no matter what situation Darnold is in, whether ahead or behind in a football game, his demeanor is always the same. He’s always calm, cool, and collective and just puts his head down and grinds his way through on every drive to keep those chains moving.

3) It was rumored that the Jets were one of the teams who were in on trying to acquire Kirk Cousins in free agency. What is the opinion of New York fans on the quarterback and his performance with Minnesota so far?

To be honest, not many fans even cared about Cousins ultimately deciding to go to the Vikings instead of the Jets. It’s just that now that the Vikings are in town, fans are probably happier the Jets went the route that they did.

Cousins would have been a good option for the next two, maybe even three years but the Jets, even during this past offseason, are far from being contenders. At least now with Darnold, they potentially have a franchise quarterback that can hold the fort down for the next decade or so. Cousins hasn’t lit up the NFL and his performance so far with the Vikings has been decent but Darnold is clearly playing better at this point in the season.

4)  Who are one player from the Jets offense and one from the defense who Minnesota Vikings fans may not be familiar with but should make a huge impact on the game?

On offense, keep an eye on running back Bilal Powell who has yet to score a rushing touchdown. Powell doubles up as a dual-threat due to his solid skill set to be a force to reckon with either on the ground or as a receiving option. With Crowell likely to be limited in action due to a foot injury, Powell will have a huge impact on this game.

On defense, linebacker Avery Williamson has been a pleasant surprise for the Jets as he has a knack at making big plays and pressuring quarterbacks, keep an eye on him.

5) What should be the most intriguing matchup (players or units) during Week 5?

5). The most intriguing matchup will be if veteran cornerback Morris Claiborne can stop wide receiver Adam Thielen. If anyone can contain Thielen for the first time this season, it’s Claiborne.

BONUS: What is your prediction for an outcome and final score?

Jets lose 35-28
