4 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. New Orleans Saints – Week 8
By Adam Patrick
Will the Minnesota Vikings be able to make it three straight wins against the New Orleans Saints when the two teams face off on Sunday night?
Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer has always seemed to have a tough time going up against the New Orleans Saints since Sean Payton became the team’s head coach in 2006.
As either a defensive coordinator or a head coach, Zimmer had lost all six of his matchups against Payton’s Saints prior to 2017. However, the Vikings head coach has led his team to wins in each of their last two games against New Orleans.
During Week 1 last season, Minnesota spoiled Adrian Peterson’s homecoming by easily defeating the Saints 29-19. Then during the divisional round of the NFC playoffs against New Orleans, the Vikings won the game on a last second touchdown pass from Case Keenum to Stefon Diggs (you might have heard about it once or twice).
This year, the Saints are taking on Minnesota inside U.S. Bank Stadium once again. Both teams are on winning streaks (five for New Orleans, three for the Vikings), but one of those will have to come to an end on Sunday night.
When they eventually do take the field this week for a primetime matchup against the Saints, what are four things to expect from Minnesota?
