Round 3: Michael Deiter, offensive tackle – Wisconsin

That’s right, the Vikings will need to be absolutely serious about getting better on the offensive line and that means investing several early picks on bringing in talent and competition at several spots.

Right now, Minnesota is paying a pretty good chunk of cash to Mike Remmers for not doing an excellent job following moving from right tackle to the interior of the offensive line while filling in for the injured Nick Easton.

A first-team All-Big-Ten guard who formerly played on the defensive line, the 6-foot-6, 328-pound mammoth of a man has shown the power to be able to move bodies out of the way and excel in making holes to run through.

He played offensive tackle through the first three years of his collegiate career, returning for his senior year to play guard. This will help him be selected much sooner than he would have in the 2018 NFL Draft and hopefully to a team who can use his service.

Other options for third-round selections:

  • Damien Prince, OG – Maryland
  • Charles Wright, OLB – Vanderbilt
