Vikings trade Harvin to Seahawks

At one time, Percy Harvin looked as though he was going to be a hugely explosive weapon in both the Minnesota Vikings offense as well as an exciting special teams player for many, many years following his arrival.

After being the 22nd overall selection of Minnesota in the 2009 NFL Draft, his time with the franchise started being spotty at best. Hampered by injuries as well as migraine issues that kept him sidelined for 10 games during his first four years with the Vikings, the team made a big decision to move on from the elusive speedster.

Their suitor for the deal was the Seattle Seahawks, who were looking to add another big weapon to their offense and gave a king’s ransom for the Vikings weapon, reuniting with Darrell Bevell, Tarvaris Jackson, and Sidney Rice there in 2013.

Minnesota ended up with a first and seventh-round draft pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, and a third-round draft pick in the 2014 Draft while Seattle only got Harvin’s services for six regular season games before he was sent to the Jets for a conditional pick.
