3 best trades ever made by the Minnesota Vikings

Vikings acquire Allen from Chiefs
A dominating pass rusher is worth trading a ton of picks for, and that’s exactly what the Minnesota Vikings did when they went after Jared Allen of the Kansas City Chiefs following the 2007 NFL season.
In his first four years with the Chiefs, Allen looked like an absolute stud. He racked up 43 sacks in 55 starts during his tenure there, a massive number that would translate well to a Vikings team who struggled in every phase of their defense during at this time.
Minnesota made the deal for Allen on April 22, 2008, sending one first-round and two third-round picks to Kansas City. Looking back at this deal now, it was an absolute steal for a team getting one of the best to ever rush the passer at a bargain.
Allen played in Minnesota for 6 seasons, totaling 85.5 sacks, 104 tackles for a loss, and 155 total quarterback hits. In fact, he led the NFL in sacks during his 2011 campaign, narrowly missing the NFL single-season sack record set by Michael Strahan.
Seeing the kind of deal the Chicago Bears worked out for Khalil Mack hammers home just how great of a deal this was for Minnesota and how he became such an important part of the Vikings defense.
