The good stuff vs Saints
Answering back. Football can be all about establishing a tone. After a defeating opening drive where the Vikings used a challenge and gave up a massive play and pass interference, Minnesota drove right down the field using a strong running attack and some awesome catches from their receivers.
Running the ball. The Saints had the best rush defense in the league heading into this game, but you wouldn’t know that watching some of the blocking by Kyle Rudolph, Pat Elflein, and others to help open some holes for the running back to head through.
The defense in general. The Saints are always so hard to beat because of their dynamic offense and tough run defense, but it was the Vikings defense that did great in this game. Although Minnesota struggle against screens, they were successful even without Xavier Rhodes and Andrew Sendejo.
The streak continues.Adam Thielen racked up another game of over 100 yards, making his 8th in a row to start the season. That ties an NFL record set by Calvin Johnson…and he can beat that mark against Detroit next week to make things even more interesting.
Getting the Sack Daddy back. It’s great to see Everson Griffen back on a football field. Even though he was limited in his snaps, there’s no denying that there is definitely a passion in his game that shows in his game. No offense to Stephen Weatherly since he did a great job filling in, but there’s nothing quite like Griff!
