A number of injured players participated in practice on Tuesday for the Minnesota Vikings and they could return to the field for the team’s Week 9 game.

Attempting to defeat the one-loss New Orleans Saints last week was already going to be a difficult task for the Minnesota Vikings. But the fact that the Vikings had to try and do it with six starters unable to play made it even harder.

They ended up losing to the Saints last Sunday and it’s hard not to wonder if the result would have been different for Minnesota if their roster was a little healthier.

For Week 9, the Vikings could possibly see a few of their players return to the starting lineup for a critical NFC North matchup against the Detroit Lions.

According to the injury report released by Minnesota on Tuesday, safety Andrew Sendejo (groin), running back Dalvin Cook (hamstring), tackle Riley Reiff (foot), and cornerback Xavier Rhodes (foot) all participated in practice on a limited basis.

Rhodes was close to playing against New Orleans last week, while Cook, Reiff, and Sendejo have missed multiple games this season.

With the Vikings just one more matchup away from their bye week, no one would be surprised if the team just let these four guys get some extra rest on the sidelines against the Lions on Sunday. However, with this week’s game being an important divisional matchup, Minnesota needs all the help they can get.
