4 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions – Week 9
By Adam Patrick
Thielen’s streak comes to end
No wide receiver in the history of the NFL has ever had as good a start to a season as Adam Thielen has this year.
Thielen has gone over 100 receiving yards in each of his eight games with the Vikings this season, tying a league record. With another 100 yards this week, he will bring his streak to nine games and be in sole possession of the record.
However, Thielen’s impressive streak will be coming to an end on Sunday against a Lions defense that has performed well against opposing passing attacks this season. Detroit has allowed just one opposing receiver to gain at least 100 yards in a game this year.
Combine this with the fact that Minnesota is likely going to be running the ball more on Sunday in an effort to expose a weak Lions run defense, Thielen probably won’t be getting as many opportunities to make plays as he is used to.
However, the Vikings receiver has been proving people wrong throughout his entire NFL career. So why would Sunday be any different?
