Minnesota Vikings vs Lions in Week 9: The Detroit perspective
By Adam Carlson
5) The Vikings have yet to defeat the Lions in front of the crowd at U.S. Bank Stadium. What do you think is the reason Minnesota hasn’t been able to put Detroit away at home?
It’s a bit of a mystery. But I think we can chalk it up to divisional play.
When it comes to the NFC North, these teams know each other so well that you can throw out the records and any home-field advantage when they battle. Each team brings a little something extra to the party when it’s a divisional opponent.
BONUS: What is your prediction for an outcome and final score?
With the loss of Golden Tate, the Lions offense could sputter in this matchup. And coming off an embarrassing defensive performance against Seattle in Week Eight, I’m not sure this team is in position to tackle the Vikings at home.
Yet, as you mentioned, these two teams have a history that is hard to ignore. Still, Detroit has been far too inconsistent for me to think they can pull this one out on the road.
Minnesota Vikings 34, Detroit Lions 23
