There were some great offensive performances from the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9 against the Detroit Lions, but who was the unit’s MVP in Week 9?

When running down the stats for the Week 9 game between the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions, the numbers for the total offensive output from the purple and gold weren’t very impressive.

The total offensive output was only 283 yards and the team was hampered by two turnovers (one interception and one fumble on an incomplete backward pass). But there was still one individual who deserves to be the most valuable player from that side of the ball.

Offensive MVP vs Lions

Dalvin Cook, running back

Cook finally made his return to the Vikings this week and was said to be on a limited snap count, but that didn’t keep him from making a massive impact in both the run and pass game against the Lions.

He only carried the ball ten times and ended up with 89 yards. A majority of that output came on a 70-yard run which showcased his speed and acceleration and featured some good blocking from the offensive line.

During the game, he caught four passes for 20 yards during the game, bringing his total combined yardage to 109 yards, an impressive 38.5% of the total offensive output from the team.

Honorable mention

Laquon Treadwell, wide receiver

It doesn’t happen very often, but this was a game where Treadwell actually led the team in receiving yards, gaining 37 yards on two catches while only being targeted twice by quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Both catches went for first downs, one being a 22-yard completion while the other gained 15 yards. Considering there were only 18 total passes caught during the game, Treadwell did a solid job filling in for the injured Stefon Diggs, including his excellent run blocking.
