The good things vs Detroit
A record day. Quarterback Matt Stafford just couldn’t stay upright during this game. Multiple Vikings players broke through the Detroit protection and got at least one sack today. In the end, it was a franchise high ten sacks on the day, with Danielle Hunter leading the way with three and a half while Tom Johnson had two and a half.
Welcome to the NFL. Chad Beebe saw his first career regular season action this week after being promoted to the active roster and didn’t waste much time before getting involved. He had three passes thrown his way and caught all three for 21 yards in an impressive effort!
Keeping the Lions out of the end zone. In today’s NFL, it is a huge challenge to not allow a touchdown in a game. However, the Vikings were able to do just that, with Detroit only being able to muster three field goals and a total of nine points on the day.
A good day from WR3. The Vikings only had 18 catches for 164 yards, but with Stefon Diggs out and Adam Thielen being held in check, Laquon Treadwell led the way with two catches for 37 yards on only two targets. He should be able to continue developing over time and make the most of his opportunities.
A big run.Dalvin Cook has struggled to get on the field, but when he did he was solid. He ended his day with only ten carries for a total of 89 yards, but broke one big run for 70 yards that nearly found the end zone. With another week to heal during the bye, he could return even better.
