The interesting stuff vs Detroit

  1. Sorry about being late. Usually, the Ups and Downs come out sooner than this, but I had the pleasure of watching this game in person. The best news of all is that the Vikings are now 9-0 when I am watching them in person. Keeping the streak alive!
  2. Finally getting that win! The Detroit Lions have owned the Vikings the last two years at U.S. Bank Stadium, but that trend has finally been broken. Not only that, but it was broken in a convincing fashion with Minnesota kicking some butt.
  3. Salute to Service. The Vikings are one of the teams that go all-out all season long with their commitment to the armed forces, but even they kick things up a notch for November. Several former and current people serving the country with gifts, displays, and a halftime concert.
  4. A surprise! Antoine Winfield was on hand to sound the Gjallarhorn, but he also hung out at U.S. Bank Stadium signing autographs for fans. Not only that, but when asked about his thoughts on the team, he replied that he thinks this is a Super Bowl team. Let’s hope he’s right.
  5. Avoiding that announcing duo. Two weeks ago, hearing Thom Brennaman and Chris Spielman struggle their way through the broadcast of a Vikings game was torture. I didn’t get to listen to their commentary this week, but I hope it was better than that game for everyone watching at home.
