The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver is in the middle of a special season and a couple of notable publications have been taking notice.

For Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen, his performance during the first half 2018 NFL season could not have gone much better.

After nine games this year, Thielen leads the league in catches (78), receiving yards (947), and catches that have resulted in a first down (51). His seven touchdown receptions are also tied for the second-most in the NFL this season.

Thielen began the year with eight straight games with at least 100 receiving yards, tying a league record. He’s also on the verge of becoming the first Vikings receiver since Randy Moss in 2003 to finish with back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons.

At his current pace, Thielen could possibly set new single-season Minnesota records for catches and receiving yards. There is still also a chance that he could break the NFL’s all-time record for receptions in a season, set back in 2002 when Marvin Harrison caught 143 passes as a member of the Indianapolis Colts.

Due his impressive year so far, the Vikings talented receiver has been getting praise from a number of prominent publications that cover professional football. Recently NFL.com and Pro Football Focus both included Thielen as a part of their selections for their midseason All-Pro teams.

The 28-year-old receiver is the only member of Minnesota’s current roster that was chosen as a midseason All-Pro this year by both NFL.com and Pro Football Focus. Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter, who currently leads the NFL in sacks, didn’t even get an honorable mention from either site.

But Thielen, a Second-Team All-Pro selection by the Associated Press in 2017, will likely be a member of this season’s group of First-Team All-Pro selections if he continues to play like he has during Minnesota’s first nine games of 2018.
