Brian O’Neill – RT

If not for injuries, O’Neill likely would not have played at all the season for the Vikings. But thanks to other offensive linemen going down this year, Minnesota has been forced to put the rookie out onto the field in the line of fire.

To his credit though, O’Neill has held his own pretty well for a guy who was considered to be a so-called “project” coming out of last April’s NFL Draft.

In seven appearances this season, the Vikings’ rookie right tackle has yet to allow a sack to an opposing defender. Last week against the Lions, O’Neill didn’t even give up a single quarterback pressure.

The rookie has had plenty of chances to screw up and remind fans of another former Minnesota rookie right tackle that was drafted out of Pittsburgh (cough, T.J. Clemmings, cough). But O’Neill has been one of the few bright spots on a Vikings offensive line that has been a thorn in the team’s side this season.
