The evolution of Danielle Hunter

Watching a young defensive end develop has been amazing. Minnesota has enjoyed some solid to amazing pass rushers over the recent years, including Ray Edwards, Jared Allen, Brian Robison, and Everson Griffen. But the best could still be to come.

Danielle Hunter has exploded onto the scene this season while being the team’s starting defensive end over the right tackle and flipping over to the other side while Griffen was out dealing with some personal issues and he found success at both spots.

Through 10 weeks, Hunter is second in the NFL in sacks with 11.5, trailing only Rams star Aaron Donald. And with the Rams having their bye in Week 12, there is a good chance the young Vikings pass rusher could take over the top of the list again.

Just going back to watch his three and a half sack performance against the Lions can give fans goosebumps, but taking a look at the 24-year-old’s entire body of work with Minnesota, 37 sacks in 55 games played (starting 26 games) has to be one of the most encouraging this for fans.
