Currently, it looks like several of the Vikings defensive tackles will be moving on from the team after this year. Getting extensions to Sheldon Richardson and Tom Johnson seems unlikely, so getting another pass rushing body in the draft makes a lot of sense financially.

With Minnesota obviously looking for the offensive line early, the defensive line can’t be ignored. The Vikings have locked down Everson Griffen, Linval Joseph, and Danielle Hunter, but the fourth starter has yet to be determined and could be a draft pick that slips out of the early rounds of the draft.

Copeland doesn’t have the impressive sack numbers of some others in this draft class, but he has a solid motor and a nose for getting into the backfield. He’s a solid tackler who has picked up 175 total tackles in his four years in college, with 18.5 of those being for a loss which includes six sacks.
