3. Forcing punts

Over the last few seasons, the Minnesota Vikings defense has become known for their ability to get stops on third down and get the ball back into the hands of the offense and this year is no different.

This season, Minnesota is holding their opponents to an NFL best 28% conversion rate on third down, allowing only 32 conversions on 133 attempts. That should be enough to intimidate any team facing the Vikings.

Plus, Green Bay is below average when it comes to converting third downs. They are ranked 19th in that regard, picking up a first on only 38% of their tries meaning they will likely struggle mightily if they reach that important down.

When one team’s weakness is another team’s strength, that’s a good sign it will be a factor in determining the outcome of the game.
