4 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers – Week 12
By Adam Patrick
Barr gets his first sack of the season
Much was made about the hit Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr delivered to Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers last season inside U.S Bank Stadium. Green Bay fans had reason to complain though since the blow knocked Rodgers out for nine games.
On Sunday, the two will meet inside U.S. Bank Stadium for the first time since that fateful afternoon last season.
Minnesota Vikings
Barr should have some more chances to get to the quarterback this week since the Packers’ offensive line has not been so great against Minnesota’s pass rush recently (or against anyone really).
In their last six matchups, Green Bay has allowed the Vikings’ defense to rack up a total of 23 sacks. During these six games, Barr has accounted for 11 quarterback pressures.
The Minnesota linebacker is returning from a hamstring injury that kept him out for the team’s previous three contests, so he may not be exactly be back to full strength on Sunday.
But he should still be able to get some good pass rushing opportunities against the Packers this week and finally get his first sack of the season.
