The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver has been dealing with a knee injury this week and has not participated in either of the team’s two practices.
When Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs are on the field together, the Minnesota Vikings have the ability to go out and hang with just about any team in the NFL. The pair of receivers is arguably the toughest duo around the league that a defense has deal with these days.
But when one of them has to miss time due to injury (normally Diggs), the other usually sees their production take a dip. As talented as the two Vikings receivers are individually, their most successful nights have mostly come when both are on the field.
Well as of Thursday, Minnesota may have to face the New England Patriots on Sunday without both of their top receivers.
For the second afternoon in a row, Diggs did not participate in the Vikings’ practice on Thursday. The Minnesota receiver is currently dealing with an injured knee according to the team’s injury report.
Despite missing practice this week, Diggs has said he will still be suiting up for this week’s game against the Patriots according to the Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson.
That’s enlightening to hear, but the Vikings receiver also said something similar to this prior to Minnesota’s Week 9 matchup with the Detroit Lions. Diggs did not end up playing against the Lions.
It would be a big loss to the Vikings if he cannot give it go against New England this week. The matchup with the Patriots is already going to be incredibly difficult and it would likely get even harder for Minnesota without Diggs in the lineup.
