The interesting stuff in Week 13

  1. Tom Terrific. It’s weird to think that the Minnesota Vikings have never beaten New England when Tom Brady is at the helm. He had previously faced the purple and gold four times in his career…and is undefeated in those meetings.
  2. Losing cornerbacks. It’s not a good thing when your fifth and sixth cornerbacks on the roster are on the field because the others are banged up. Thankfully, Rhodes and Alexander were able to return to the game, but Waynes didn’t come back after suffering a concussion due to a knee to the head.
  3. Home field advantage. The Patriots defend their home turf well, winning all five of their home games before Week 13 this season while struggling at times on the road. Meanwhile, Minnesota was only 2-2-1 on the road entering this contest.
  4. Do the running, man. I don’t know if you know this, but Tom Brady rushed for his 1,000th career yard during this game. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman discussed it approximately every five minutes during the broadcast, so those with short-term memory issues could remember.
  5. A bad division week. This week, the Minnesota Vikings weren’t the only team from the NFL North who lost. In fact, the Lions, Bears, and Packers all fell short of wins…with Green Bay even losing their head coach (if you can consider that losing).
