No misses for Bailey
Kickers and the Vikings work about as well with each other as vegans and butchers. For whatever reason, Minnesota’s kicking game has been the Achilles heel of the franchise during the majority of its existence.
The Vikings even went out and signed the second-most accurate kicker in NFL history this season in Dan Bailey. But ever since Bailey put on the Minnesota uniform, he’s experienced some of the same misfortune of those who attempted field goals in the purple and gold before him.
In 10 games with the Vikings this season, Bailey has already missed seven kicks (six field goals and one extra point). Thanks to his time in Minnesota, the veteran has now moved down to be the sixth-most accurate kicker in league history.
On Monday, Bailey will be going into a Seattle stadium that has never been the friendliest venue for opposing kickers. In fact, the opposing kicker has missed at least one field goal or extra point attempt in three of the Seahawks’ five home games this season.
Everything basically not being in Bailey’s favor is exactly why he is going to make every field goal and extra point he attempts on Monday night. Because absolutely nothing makes sense when it comes to Vikings kickers.
