4 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Seattle Seahawks – Week 14
By Adam Patrick
Sherels takes one to the house
Few Vikings players over the last nine seasons have been as consistent as Marcus Sherels. Sherels has been Minnesota’s punt returner since 2011 and no one has ever been able to overtake him for the job.
He’s not the flashiest of returners, but he rarely fumbles and his decisions hardly ever result in the Vikings’ offense taking the field with poor field position.
During his career with Minnesota, Sherels has taken five punts to the house for a touchdown. However, he hasn’t found the end zone on a punt return since the 2016 season.
That will change this week against the Seahawks as Sherels will field a punt and run past Seattle’s entire coverage unit for a Vikings touchdown. Also expect ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast team to pronounce Sherels’ name wrong as they show 17 different replays of his return for a score.
