2. Favre gets revenge on the Packers (2009)

One player that no one probably ever imagined would put on a Vikings uniform was Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre. After spending the majority of his NFL career with the rival Green Bay Packers, Favre playing for Minnesota seemed like a dumb fantasy for someone to have.

But in 2009, somehow the Vikings convinced the veteran quarterback to play for them. And boy was Minnesota happy they did.

Favre and the Vikings got off to hot start in his first season with the team, winning each of their first three games. Then in Week 4, the time came for the ol’ gunslinger to face off against the Packers for the first time in his career.

Facing the quarterback Green Bay picked over him (Aaron Rodgers), Favre was just a tiny bit motivated to come out of the matchup with a win.

Decked out in a purple and gold Minnesota uniform, the future Hall of Famer didn’t disappoint. Favre threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns as he led the Vikings to a 30-23 win in front of their home crowd.

The veteran quarterback went on to have a magical season with Minnesota in 2009. But if someone were to ask Favre what his favorite game was from that year, the Monday night win over Green Bay is probably a strong contender.
