Minnesota Vikings: 15 best wide receivers of all time
By Adam Carlson
For many fans, hearing the name Randy Moss brings back visions of the tall, athletic receiver leaping over defenders to haul in contested catches. In fact, the term “Mossed” is commonly used for when a pass catcher makes an amazing play.
Moss brought his talents to Minnesota when he was selected in the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft out of Marshall. He immediately made his presence felt in his rookie year, catching 69 passes for 1,313 yards and 17 touchdowns on his way to being named the 1998 Offensive Rookie of the Year.
His entire career with the Vikings was exciting, as shown by his 587 catches for 9,316 yards and 92 touchdowns. He made the Pro Bowl five times with Minnesota and was All-Pro First Team three times during that stretch. This helped him a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on his first ballot, as well as the Vikings Ring of Honor.
Known as “Freak” or “Superfreak” by fans, Moss is second all-time in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. This cements his place in the hearts of Vikings fans, as well as fans of football in general, thanks to his exciting play and larger than life personality.
