Vikings hold Stafford to under 200 yards
Minnesota’s pass rush has been getting a ton of credit this season and deservedly so. The Vikings now lead the NFL in sacks with 47 after adding a whopping nine to their total last week against the Dolphins.
But another part of Minnesota’s defense has been playing outstanding this year as well. After holding Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill to just 108 passing yards last Sunday, the Vikings currently have the fourth-best pass defense in the league.
Since Week 8, Minnesota has held the opposing quarterback to under 200 passing yards in six of their seven games.

This hasn’t come against a bunch of slouches either as the list of opposing signal-callers the Vikings have faced over the last few weeks includes Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, and Russell Wilson among others.
One of the opposing quarterbacks Minnesota held under 200 passing yards this season is the guy they will be facing on Sunday in Detroit. Against the Vikings in Week 9, Lions signal-caller Matthew Stafford threw for just 199 yards and no touchdowns.
Based on the fact that Stafford has thrown for more than 245 yards just once since then and with the way Minnesota’s pass defense is playing lately, expect the Lions quarterback to have another afternoon with less than 200 passing yards this Sunday.
