Overall impression of Week 16

During the early stages of this game, it didn’t feel good. The Minnesota Vikings were giving up a lot of yards and the Lions were scoring points while moving the ball seemed like a massive challenge against the Honolulu blue.

Thankfully, things turned around pretty quickly. The defense once again held Detroit to only field goals, keeping them out of the end zone for the entirety of their two matchups this season and only allowing three field goals made in each game.

No turnovers from the Vikings offense was the key to this game, working along with their strategy to “pound the beef” and control the clock. Any time an offense like that can be paired with this stingy Minnesota defense, things will turn out well.

Great performances from Kirk Cousins, Kyle Rudolph, Mackensie Alexander, Eric Wilson, and nearly everyone on the team put this game out of reach for the Lions, making the final half feel like smooth sailing.
