Overall Impression from Week 17

One year ago, Vikings fans experienced one of the most memorable playoff runs in franchise history (both good and bad). This year, they’ll be sitting on the couch despite adding the top free-agent quarterback and the top free-agent defensive lineman in the class.

Minnesota general manager Rick Spielman and head coach Mike Zimmer ignored the most crucial flaws of this team and it cost them a trip to the playoffs in a season in which they were supposed to end with a Lombardi trophy.

With the loss on Sunday, this should be enough noise for the Vikings to address the offensive line and the holes in the coaching staff to hopefully be better in 2019.

Even if they do, this was a year lost in a three-year Super Bowl window. Minnesota’s loss on Sunday though may result in the team looking different on the field and on the sideline in 2019.
