Xavier Rhodes and Eric Kendricks’ 2019 Resolutions:

Return to form

Xavier Rhodes and Eric Kendricks were two lynchpins of the Vikings’ elite defense in 2017, but each of them had their share of issues in 2018.

Rhodes seemed to be battling injuries all season long and after being in and out of the lineup, he saw a drop off while ranking 153rd among cornerbacks in the NFL according to Pro Football Focus.

Kendricks had also come into the year with some hype after receiving a five-year, $50 million contract last offseason. But he wasn’t the same player throughout 2018 either.

Although a hamstring injury knocked Kendricks out of the final two games of the season, it could have possibly lingered throughout as he was unable to make the same plays he did a year ago.

Rhodes and Kendricks will be 29 and 27 respectively when Week 1 hits next season and perhaps an offseason to get healthy and reflect can help them become key cogs on the Vikings’ defense once again.
