5 players who should be on the Vikings’ free agency wish list for 2019

The NFL’s free agency period won’t officially begin until March, but there are some players that the Minnesota Vikings should already be thinking about for their 2019 roster.

Free agency for the Minnesota Vikings in 2019 is definitely going to be a much different experience than what the team went through last offseason.

Last year, the Vikings had around $50 million in cap space heading into the free agency period and they were able to sign players like Kirk Cousins and Sheldon Richardson to big-money deals. Heading into the 2019 offseason, Minnesota is expected to only have about $11.35 million to spend according to Over The Cap.

Of course, that amount could increase for the Vikings with a few roster moves and contract restructures before free agency begins in March. But for now, it looks like Minnesota probably won’t be able to afford some of the big name free-agents that are expected to be available this year.

Who the Vikings add in free agency this offseason will also be determined by how many of their own free-agents they end up keeping around for 2019. By the time March comes around, Minnesota could possibly be in need of a new starting linebacker, a third wide receiver, a kicker, and a backup running back.
