Overall Grade

Just looking at the numbers, the Vikings’ defense didn’t really have a drop off from 2017 to 2018. But from watching the games, one would know that this wasn’t the case. There just seemed to be something missing in 2018 from what Minnesota had experienced the year before.

Whether it was losing a swagger that nobody was going to score on them or just Father Time catching up to some of their key figures, the Vikings’ defense didn’t quite match up to where they were last season.

Mike Zimmer has vowed that won’t be the case for Minnesota’s defense in 2019. But the defense certainly needs to get its attitude back if the Vikings want to go places next season.
