The Minnesota Vikings are in desperate need of assistance on the offensive line and a recent mock draft on NFL.com has the team landing a top prospect.

For some fans, there is still a lot of excitement as four squads are still in pursuit of the Lombardi trophy. However, for followers of teams like the Minnesota Vikings, the focus has already shifted to the offseason and the 2019 NFL Draft.

This means experts will also be putting out their mock drafts, trying to fill some of the biggest needs with the best talent available out of college football. And it has been quite interesting who some of the players projected to land in Minnesota might be.

Recently, Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com released his mock draft 1.0 and had Nick Bosa going number one overall to the Arizona Cardinals. His pick for the Minnesota Vikings wasn’t much of a surprise either.

With the 18th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Daniel Jeremiah projects the Minnesota Vikings to select Jonah Williams, an offensive lineman from Alabama.

Currently, several teams are looking at Williams as an offensive tackle prospect but he would be more than capable of moving inside to guard. Filling the two spots at guard this season should be the top priority of the Vikings, and it is expected an early draft pick will be used to get the necessary talent to do so.

However, this doesn’t account for other team needs which may arise if they are unable to bring back starters such as Anthony Barr, Sheldon Richardson, and others. If a top linebacker or defensive tackle prospect falls to Minnesota, don’t be surprised to see them struggle to stick to an offensive lineman.

If they can land Jonah Williams, expect many Vikings fans to be excited to have a possible answer at one of the most glaring holes on their roster. For now, expect most mocks to have Minnesota picking an offensive lineman with their first selection.
