Round 7

Phillip Lindsay – RB (Colorado)

Original Pick: Devante Downs – LB (California)

Lindsay’s big knock coming out of college was his size and questions surrounding whether he could handle an NFL load or not.

Well, in the matter of only one year he put an end to any of those concerns. The undrafted running back cracked 1,000 yards to go along with his nine touchdowns and 35 receptions in his rookie season with the Denver Broncos.

Minnesota Vikings

Sure, the Vikings already have Dalvin Cook. But imagine this one-two punch in Minnesota’s backfield. It would keep opposing defensive coordinators up at night.

Oh, did I mention he can return kicks too?

Thoughts on original pick:

If you would have told me Downs was going to make the Vikings final 53-man roster in 2018, I would have called you a liar. But that is exactly what he did.

So hats off to Downs for overachieving and he has proven that he has a future in the NFL (hopefully with the Vikings). But when push comes to shove, Phillip Lindsay wins this battle and it’s not even close.

Next. Grading the performance of the Vikings' 2018 rookie class. dark
