Danielle Hunter has become a dominant force on the Minnesota Vikings defensive line and he feeds off the love he is shown by fans wearing his jersey.

Minnesota Vikings fans love wearing the team colors. Whether there is an ocean of purple and gold at U.S. Bank Stadium for home games or people are just representing the franchise at the gas station, a restaurant, or other location, seeing fans share their love for the team is impressive.

Seeing those colors is one way to know that people have things in common, but what about the players whose jerseys are being worn? What does that mean to the players who see fans singling them out as fans?

Recently, the official website of the Minnesota Vikings spoke with defensive lineman Danielle Hunter at Pro Bowl practice about the fans and they shared his feelings on seeing the fans wearing his jersey.

"“Over the first two days of Pro Bowl practices, Hunter showed love to the fans. He called it a “good feeling” to see so many Purple jerseys and specifically those with 99 on the back.”"

It has to feel kind of surreal to see people walking around with your name on their backs. However, it is also a great show of respect for a player who has worked extremely hard to get where he is and become a dominating force.

One fan in attendance was from his home town in Katy, Texas and moved there from Jamaica when he was eight years old. It’s passionate fans that have Hunter appreciating those in purple and gold.

"“It means a lot to just come out here and represent the team. Not only that but also represent my family and [everyone] I’ve been playing for these past [four] years. I think that means a lot to those people I’ve been with.”"
