While everyone is banking on an offensive lineman in round one for the Minnesota Vikings in the 2019 draft, people should also be prepared for a few other positions that they could target.

What makes the NFL Draft so good is the element of surprise. Every year, in every round there is at least one pick that makes everyone’s jaw drop. The Minnesota Vikings have had a few of those picks themselves over the past years.

Just look at last year. Everyone had UTEP guard Will Hernandez pegged to go to the Vikings in the first round and if he wasn’t available, it would just be the next best offensive linemen on the board.

Well, Minnesota fans all know how that ended. It ended with the Vikings passing on Hernandez to instead take a play-making cornerback that not many had on the team’s radar.

So will Minnesota pull another fast one on their fans? Or will they stick to their guns and give in to what many fans are clamoring for this year.

To help Vikings fans prepare themselves mentally, here are three surprise position groups that Minnesota may look to improve with their 2019 first-round draft pick.
