Cornerback

I know what you are thinking, cornerback?! Really?! Yes, the Vikings have a litter of solid cornerbacks on the roster with Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes, Mike Hughes,  Mackensie Alexander, and Holton Hill.

But after next year, Minnesota’s cornerback situation could look drastically different. Let’s take a deeper look.

  • Xavier Rhodes

Rhodes is a very good corner, but there is no way to sugar coat the fact he had a down year in 2018 compared to past years. Injuries for the veteran corner have been, and will continue to be, a concern.

  • Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander

Both will be a free-agents after next year and they will likely have plenty of suitors willing to spend money for their services.

  • Mike Hughes

Hughes has tons of potential. But the fact is that he will be coming off a torn ACL, which always leaves question marks.

  • Holton Hill

Hill was a nice surprise as an undrafted free-agent, but he still has a ways to go.

Potential First-Round CB Targets:

Greedy Williams (LSU)
DeAndre Backer (Georgia)
Byron Murphy (Washington)
