The Walter Payton Man of the Year was revealed at the 2019 NFL Honors program but the winner wasn’t Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph.

The Minnesota Vikings had a large number of fans who were working extremely hard to get Kyle Rudolph some momentum and support him when it comes to being named Walter Payton Man of the Year.

On Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, the winner of the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award was revealed during the NFL Honors program. Sadly, the individual revealed to accept the award wasn’t the Vikings tight end.

While Rudolph did win the third annual Charity Challenge thanks to Vikings fans using the hashtag #WPMOYChallenge on social media, the 2018 Man of the Year Award went to Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long.

One of the great things about the Walter Payton Man Man of the Year award is knowing that some of the individuals who do great things for their communities and charities in the NFL are getting recognized for their efforts.

Long shared his feelings about how the NFL allowed him to do some great things for those in need during his speech which was noted on the official website of the NFL:

"“I am incredibly thankful that football has provided me with a platform to give back and I am proud that so many of my colleagues have decided to use this stage to create positive and impactful change in our local communities and around the world.”"

Congratulations to Chris Long on being named the 2018 Walter Payton Man of the Year and huge thanks go out to every NFL player who uses their opportunity as a professional athlete to give back to their communities and those in need. Also, congratulations to Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph on winning the Charity Challenge and being a finalist for Man of the Year.
