Teddy Bridgewater – QB

As hard as it was for some Vikings fans to see Bridgewater playing for the New Orleans Saints and New York Jets last year, it was a necessary departure that Minnesota had to make in 2018. His injury risk was just too large for the Vikings to take a chance on last season and the team decided to go after Kirk Cousins instead.

Well now, Bridgewater is a free-agent again this year and Minnesota could be interested in adding a veteran backup behind Cousins. But a reunion between the Vikings and their 2014 first-round draft pick should not be something the team considers this offseason.

If anyone thought that Cousins had a tough time dealing with criticism from Minnesota’s fans last year, can people imagine how he would perform if chants of “Teddy, Teddy, Teddy” began to pop up inside U.S. Bank Stadium again?

The second Cousins would throw an interception or make a bad decision, Vikings fans would be begging for the team to replace him with Bridgewater.

As great of a guy Teddy is and how liked he was by Minnesota’s locker room during his time with the team, the Vikings bringing him back for next season would probably cause more bad than good in terms of team chemistry.
