Round 6 Pick 2: Andre James, OT – UCLA

Yes, there are THREE offensive linemen in this mock draft. However, this time it’s another player who could prove to be very valuable. The Vikings will be looking for a swing tackle since Rashod Hill could get signed away from the team even though he is a restricted free agent.

That means a swing tackle or at the very least a project offensive tackle should be something Minnesota is looking for. Taking a shot on Andre James in the sixth round sounds like a good bet since they could be able to stash him away on the practice squad to challenge Storm Norton and Aviante Collins if they do bring Hill back.

James has experience at left tackle from his 2018 campaign where running back Joshua Kelley ran for 1,243 yards and 12 touchdowns. In addition, he also played at right tackle during his 2017 season which saw the Bruins rushing numbers improve.

His six-foot-five frame and 305-pound body would provide exactly what the team is looking for. However, his lack of experience may be questioned since he sat behind current Raiders offensive lineman Kolton Miller and only has two full seasons of play under his belt after taking over for the final seven games of 2016.
