Round 7 Pick 1: Deshaun Davis, OLB – Auburn

To be honest, it’s a bit surprising to see Deshaun Davis rated so low on CBS Sports. There isn’t much to argue about when it comes to his production over the last two years of his NCAA career at Auburn and there is little reason to believe he will fall off when he arrives in the NFL.

In 2017 and 2018, Davis played in all 26 games where he accumulated194 combined tackles with 95 of them being solo, 22 of them for a loss, and 7.5 sacks. In addition, he continued to get better as he gained more experience against tough competition.

Sadly, he lacks the size that the Minnesota Vikings normally like in a linebacker. Standing only five-foot-eleven, Davis doesn’t have the height of a player like Anthony Barr, but has a lot of heart and fight to consistently improve himself.

There is also the matter of him being thankful for everything he earns and everyone who helps him along the way. The story of him rising from a struggling student to potential NFL linebacker is a fun one, and pairs nicely with his on-field achievements.
