The former Kansas State offensive tackle recently discussed the possibility of getting selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft.

It’s definitely not a secret that the Minnesota Vikings will be looking to improve their offensive line this offseason. Some of these efforts to improve the unit will likely take place when the Vikings make their selections in the 2019 NFL Draft.

There are a number of talented offensive line prospects for Minnesota to choose from this year. Former Kansas State offensive tackle Dalton Risner is one of 2019’s top prospects and the Vikings may opt to select him when the time comes for them to make their first-round pick this year.

Recently, Risner spoke with The Viking Age’s own Matt Falk on the SKOLHole Podcast and the 2019 prospect was asked about the possibility of being drafted by Minnesota this year.

"“Man that’d be an honor. I think that would be great. Listen, I was in purple for five years at K-State. I wouldn’t mind staying in purple. I think that would be a pretty good experience.”"

Risner’s response shouldn’t be too surprising, as it sounds like he’ll just be happy to play for any NFL team that gives him an opportunity. But it’s still nice to hear the young blocker express some excitement when asked about the chance of playing for the Vikings.

If he’s still on the board, adding Risner to their roster would be a great selection for Minnesota this year. The former Kansas State offensive lineman is actually being predicted to land with the Vikings by a number of notable draft analysts.

Risner is praised for his versatility to play multiple positions on the line and for his athleticism to get out and create space for his teammates downfield. Conveniently, Minnesota has shown in the recent past that they tend to gravitate more towards the offensive line prospects that have the ability to line up at multiple positions.

If the Vikings happened to actually end up selecting Risner with their 2019 first-round pick, it appears like it would be a step in the right direction for the future of the team’s offensive line.
