Second Round

Chris Lindstrom – OG (Boston College)

Lindstrom will be a hot commodity in the second round this year for teams looking for a day one starter at guard. Regardless if the Vikings add help for their offensive line in the first round or not, if a guy like Lindstrom is available, they’ll need to take a long hard look at double dipping with offensive linemen with their first two 2019 selections.

Lindstrom won’t wow anyone with his athletic ability, but the four-year starter from Boston College is polished and ready to contribute on day one in the NFL as a rookie.

He holds his own in both the pass and the run. What I love about the 6-foot-4, 300 pound guard is that he does everything well. He really doesn’t have any glaring concerns about his game. Yes, he will need to get a little stronger to produce in the NFL, but that goes for every rookie.

If they did in fact double dip this early in the draft, Minnesota’s offensive line would be pretty well revamped from a year ago. The Vikings would be looking at first-rounder in Greg Little at left tackle, moving Riley Reiff inside to left guard, Pat Elflien at center, Lindstrom at right guard, and Brian O’Neill at right tackle.

With this group of youngsters, Minnesota fans would have some legitimate hope that the offensive line woes would be resolved.
