Minnesota Vikings Draft 2019: Four-round mock draft – 2.0
By Matt Falk
Fourth Round
Lil’Jordan Humphrey – WR (Texas)
Yes, the Vikings have one of the best wide receiving duos in the NFL. But behind the Stefon Diggs/Adam Theilen connection, the cupboard is extremely bare.
It is also safe to say at this point that Laquon Treadwell is a full blown bust and a long shot to even make Minnesota’s roster in 2019. So yes, wide receiver will be a need for the Vikings in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Minnesota will have their eyes peeled for a guy who could fill the slot position. Humphrey just so happened to make that spot his home during his time in Texas.
What I love about the 6-foot-4, 220 pound receiver is his ability to make plays after the catch. He is the type of guy that can make the tough catches over the middle and make something out of nothing.
What teams don’t get excited about with Humphrey is his speed. He’ll need to prove he can separate himself before he gets any real time on the field as a rookie.
With the current state of Minnesota’s depth chart, a guy like Humphrey could step in on day one and push for playing time in the slot as a rookie. While the former Longhorn probably should have stayed at Texas for another year, some team will benefit from his decision as he will go a little later in the draft than he probably should.
