No. 8:  Gene Washington and Bob Grim – 48 receptions, 814 yards, 6.0 touchdowns. (1967 – 1971)

In 1967 the Vikings drafted one of the best players in franchise history when they selected defensive tackle Alan Page with the 15th pick in the first round. This was also a draft where they would select a pair of wide receivers who led the team in receiving over the next five seasons.

With the eighth pick in the draft, they selected Gene Washington from Michigan State. They added Bob Grim from Oregon State in the second round. Their arrival to Minnesota coincided with the departure of quarterback Fran Tarkenton. For five seasons they were at the receiving end of passes from Joe Kapp and Gary Cuozzo.

No. 7: John Gilliam and Jim Lash – 63 receptions, 1,154 yards, 7.7 touchdowns. (1973 – 1975)

The duo of John Gilliam and Jim Lash played together for only three seasons, but in two of them, they made it to the Super Bowl.  Gilliam, a 2nd round draft choice of the New Orleans Saints in 1967, joined the Vikings in 1972. Over the four seasons, Gilliam made it to four straight Pro Bowls. In 1973 the Vikings added Jim Lash, a 3rd-round draft pick from Northwestern. Gilliam and Lash took turns leading the Vikings in receiving with Gilliam earning the honor in 1973 and 1975 and Lash in 1974.

After only three seasons together, this duo would be replaced by another in this ranking.
