No. 6: Anthony Carter and Hassan Jones – 85 receptions, 1,396 yards, 9.0 touchdowns. (1986 – 1992)

Originally a 12th-round draft pick of the Miami Dolphins in 1983, Anthony Carter from the University of Michigan, played two seasons in the USFL before being traded to the Vikings. He played nine seasons with the Vikings and paired with Hassan Jones, a 5th-round draft pick out of Florida State in 1986. In 1987, a strike-shortened season, Carter led the NFL with 24.2 yards per catch. He also had a very memorable postseason with an 84-yard punt return against the Saints in New Orleans, followed by a 10-catch, 227 yard effort against the 49ers in San Francisco.

No. 5: Cris Carter and Anthony Carter – 115 receptions, 1,511 yards, 10.8 touchdowns. (1990 – 1993)

In 1990 Cris Carter joined the Vikings after being claimed off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles. Stuck behind the established duo of Jones and Anthony Carter, Cris broke into the starting lineup in 1991 leading to the Jones’ departure in 1992.

Over 11 seasons from 1985 to 1995, either Anthony or Cris led the Vikings in receiving yards in 10 of them, each doing so five times.  Surprisingly over the four seasons, they played together these two elite receivers individually only put up two 1,000-yard seasons—Anthony in 1990 and Cris in 1993. This dynamic duo would finish first (Cris) and third (Anthony) in franchise history for receiving yards.
