Devin White – LB (LSU)

This would be a rare case of when the Vikings would be taking the best player available and also filling one of their major needs.

With Anthony Barr almost certain to leave in free agency, outside linebacker becomes a huge need for Minnesota this offseason. The Vikings could technically get by with Eric Wilson, Eric Kendricks, and Ben Gedeon in 2019, but they would much rather roll with a talented young rookie or an experienced veteran.

Devin White is a thickly-built linebacker who has great sideline to sideline speed. He also has exceptional closing speed and a knack for finding the ball carrier no matter where he is on the field.

White is also a smart player who reads plays before reacting and he can deliver some bone-crushing hits. This guy would absolutely flourish with Minnesota in Mike Zimmer’s defense.

There is a slim chance that White could fall to the Vikings at pick No. 18 this year. There are plenty of teams who could select him in 2019, but many of these teams have bigger needs to address than linebacker.

The one team that Minnesota and their fans would really need to worry about sniping White off the board would be the Cincinnati Bengals at pick No. 11. The Bengals have a huge need at linebacker and he would make a ton of sense for them. Even at at pick No. 11, White could be the best player available.
