B.W. Webb

2018 Stats:

  • 59 tackles
  • 6 pass breakups
  • 1 interception

This former fourth-round draft pick (2013) is no stranger to changing uniforms. Webb has played on a total of seven teams since coming into the NFL.

He is a speedy cornerback who is known more for his special teams play than his performance in the secondary. During his time in the league, Webb has been more of a third or fourth corner on team’s depth charts, which is a far cry from the potential starter that he was looked at coming out of William & Mary in 2013.

The 5-foot-11, 188 pound cornerback did manage to start a total of 13 games for the New York Giants last year and he was able to tally one interception and one sack.

So why would the Vikings be interested in this journeyman? He offers plenty of experience, he won’t cost much, and he can make an impact on special teams.

Lets face it, if Minnesota’s group of corners stays the same as it is now, this is exactly the type of guy they will be looking to add to their roster. A guy like Webb would push for one of the final spots in the Vikings’ secondary and worst case, he motivates an incoming rookie or practice squad player to make the roster.
