The Minnesota Vikings are never going to nail every single one of their draft picks. Occasionally they’ll pick a player who doesn’t work out though and history will show there were much better options on the board at the time.

The Minnesota Vikings have done quite well in the NFL Draft in recent years. Over half of the Vikings’ current roster is made up of players they have selected in the draft.

That’s a job well done by Minnesota general manager Rick Spielman and his scouting staff. That being said, the Vikings have also missed on plenty of picks over the last handful of drafts.

Let’s go back and take a look at some of Minnesota’s draft misses from the recent past and see who else was on the board at the time that would’ve been a much better choice for them to make.

Obviously, it’s easy to go back now and say the Vikings should’ve done this or that. But it’s interesting to find out who could’ve been selected by Minnesota, knowing what the team knows now about the players they chose and the guys they passed on.
