5 prospects who moved down the Vikings’ draft board after the Combine
By Nik Edlund
Greg Little – OT (Ole Miss)
Little, like some other guys on this list, was really all over the map in terms of draft value heading into the 2019 combine. Some scouts had him going in the first round, while others had him falling all the way into round three.
The biggest knock on Little heading into the combine was his overall work ethic. His performance in Indianapolis definitely didn’t change anyone’s opinion who already thought this way.
Little was sluggish in the drills and he actually appeared to be getting winded. He was heavy footed and he just didn’t move well overall.
His testing times weren’t great either. Little ran a poor 40-yard dash, he didn’t jump well, and his 20-yard cone time was slow.
Obviously, this is a big man and quickness and speed aren’t his strong suits. But teams would’ve probably liked to see a little better numbers.
Another negative was that he didn’t bench, do the 3 cone drill, or the 60-yard shuttle. When looking at a guy with motivation issues, most teams would like to see him compete in every test possible.
The Vikings definitely need offensive line help, but after the combine they can’t possibly consider Little with their first-round pick. He is a big ol’ body, but he just lacks overall athletic ability.
The earliest Minnesota should think about adding him would be in the second round, and even that might be a round too soon.
