Devin White – LB (LSU)

Prior to the Combine, there seemed to be about a 40 percent chance that Devin White could fall to the Vikings in the middle of round one. After his time in Indianapolis, that chance goes down to 0.01 percent.

White absolutely ripped up the combine. He tested off the charts in all the physical drills, topping it off with the best 40-yard dash time of any linebacker with a time of 4.42.

This performance just confirmed what scouts had been seeing on tape of this physical linebacker from the Bayou. White flies to the football and lays big ol’ hits. He’s a great athlete and a smart and instinctive defender. Those traits all showed up at the combine and this guy should be in line for a long and productive NFL career.

White has a great chance to be a top ten pick in April. There’s a chance he could go as high as to the Oakland Raiders with the fourth overall pick. It would be absolutely shocking to see this big thumper fall past the Cincinnati Bengals at pick 11. Mike Zimmer had to be drooling as he watched this guy perform in Indianapolis, and maybe even shed a tear when he realized there was no chance of the Vikings being able to put his name on their card come Thursday, April 25th.
