Latavius Murray – RB

Latavius Murray has stated he would like to be a starting running back somewhere and knows that won’t be in Minnesota with Dalvin Cook on the roster. Murray needs to face reality though.

There aren’t many teams in need of a running back and one who is 29-years-old at that. Factor in that while this isn’t a top-heavy draft when it comes to running backs, it is very deep. Murray may test the market but he could find it to be a very cold one.

Murray works great in a tandem setting. He’s a grinder type of back who is an excellent complement to the explosive style of Dalvin Cook.

He’s been a solid member of the Twin Cities community and a very good addition to this offense, and really a great Viking overall. It’d be a shame to see him go.

The good thing for Vikings fans is that they won’t have to worry about saying goodbye, because Murray is coming back.

Prediction: Minnesota Vikings

Tom Johnson – DT

It was borderline shocking when the Vikings used a waiver claim on Tom Johnson after Week 2 of the 2018 season.

He wasn’t re-signed after the 2017 season and landed in Seattle. The Seahawks cut him, thinking he’d clear waivers, but that didn’t happen.

Johnson did what he always does and produced when he got the chance in 2018. He was strictly a rotational guy for the Vikings last year but still tallied 4.5 sacks for the Purple.

If the Vikings can’t bring back Sheldon Richardson they should make re-signing Tom Johnson a priority. He gives them someone who they know can be effective in this defense. He could work in tandem with young Jalyn Holmes and a rookie defensive lineman the team drafts.

At 34-years-old, Johnson isn’t going to have his phone ringing off the hook. For whatever reason, he just works in Minnesota, and they can’t quit each other.
